WELLOW

This route is quite hilly, via Shoscombe and Stoney Littleton along Colliers Way and quiet lanes.

Starting at the Pit wheel in Radstock, head along Waterloo Road until the road bears left, uphill, and the door of a double garage may be seen, in front, on the right hand side.  Turn right in front of the garage onto Colliers Way signposted to Wellow and Shoscombe Vale.

When the cycle path joins a lane, keep going in the same direction.  Beware of speed humps here. At the crossroads, go straight across towards Shoscombe. After a downhill section, there is a pretty steep section leading into Shoscombe.

Straight across at the next crossroads, then, after about a quarter mile turn right at the T junction, downhill towards Stoney Littleton.  Continue over an old railway bridge, then further downhill turn left (signposted route 24 to Wellow)

After about a mile there is a parking area on the right hand side next to a bridge over the brook.  A short walk from here left over the bridge leads to the Stoney Littleton Long Barrow.

Continue uphill (it's long and steep) for about a mile to the T junction with Wellow Road.  Turn right towards Wellow.  There is not a cafe available in Wellow, so after a short rest head back by the same route.
